Itinerary
Day 1: Accra – Kakum National Park – Hans Cottage
- Depart from Accra in an air-conditioned vehicle.
- Visit Kakum National Park, home to one of Africa’s few canopy walkways, suspended 40 meters above the forest floor.
- Enjoy a short forest hike and learn about the diverse wildlife, including rare bird species and monkeys.
- Stop at Hans Cottage, a unique eco-lodge surrounded by a lake filled with crocodiles. Get a chance to see and even interact with the crocodiles while enjoying the serene atmosphere.
- Transfer to your hotel in Cape Coast or Elmina for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Elmina & Cape Coast Castles – Accra
- Start your morning with a visit to Elmina Castle, the oldest European-built structure in sub-Saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Learn about its dark past during the transatlantic slave trade.
- Continue to Cape Coast Castle, another significant historical site that played a key role in the slave trade. Walk through the dungeons and experience the powerful history behind the “Door of No Return.”
- Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with a beautiful ocean view.
- Depart for Accra and arrive in the evening.

We always stay at here when in town. The location is great, staff is wonderful and we love the overall feel. Beautiful view from the here.
It is a great place to shop not too far from Europe. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
