Itinerary

Day 1: Accra – Kakum National Park – Hans Cottage

• Depart from Accra in an air-conditioned vehicle.
• Visit Kakum National Park, home to one of Africa’s few canopy walkways, suspended 40 meters above the forest floor.
• Enjoy a short forest hike and learn about the diverse wildlife, including rare bird species and monkeys.
• Stop at Hans Cottage, a unique eco-lodge surrounded by a lake filled with crocodiles. Get a chance to see and even interact with the crocodiles while enjoying the serene atmosphere.
• Transfer to your hotel in Cape Coast or Elmina for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Elmina & Cape Coast Castles – Accra

• Start your morning with a visit to Elmina Castle, the oldest European-built structure in sub-Saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Learn about its dark past during the transatlantic slave trade.
• Continue to Cape Coast Castle, another significant historical site that played a key role in the slave trade. Walk through the dungeons and experience the powerful history behind the “Door of No Return.”
• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with a beautiful ocean view.
• Depart for Accra and arrive in the evening.
